The MARCAD consortium in West and Central Africa is a partnership of institutions sponsored by the Wellcome Trust working in partnership with the Department of International Development (DFID) and the Alliance for Accelerating Excellence in Science in Africa (AESA). 

Malaria research

MARCAD in West and Central Africa offers a new PhD and Postdoctoral research program in the areas of elimination and strengthening of malaria control interventions.

Capacity building

The objective is to strengthen the quality of research on malaria by training African scientists who will be the future leaders in research, able to take on the new challenges of the fight against malaria aimed at its elimination.
